The Trip

G'day all

Well has been one huge but awesome week, I have have taken a weeks holidays to get out of the city to clear my head and went bush its such a freeing feeling heading to the outback back here ! and I think everyone needs it from time to time if you live in the city.
With all the advertising, job worries, people and just a plethora of everything going on around you living in the big smoke ones mind starts to become clouded and you  start to forget the important things, you start pushing out all the small stuff that makes you YOU. Now don't get me wrong I enjoy living in the city with all it has to offer but life here and am sure in all city's I like to refer it to a colony of socially awkward ants where everyone is so close together in only a physical sense no emotional attachment with old "joe" crossing the street walking past each other bumping shoulders continuing on walking without so much as a "how ya going" and everyone is just doing what they that have to to get by nothing more, they have never heard the term "to stop and smell the roses". Before I completely get labeled a city people basher I end up the same after living here a while its the only way to survive and that is why I have to get out every now and then.

So here we are first leg of the journey.
I had my friends wedding on Saturday midday in Emu Park, and had to work all the previous week so the only way to get there in time was leave Friday afternoon after work which was quite an effort as it is a 690 km drive taking roughly 8 hours, it was very exhausting and not much to see along that road at night no wildlife to dodge luckily but my old friends the Truck Drivers were determined to make it as annoying as possible..... but I made it no mishaps.

This was a pretty boring leg of the journey I just wanted to get there !! as you can understand I was tired but I will continue through today and the next couple posting the rest of the journey check back soon.

Horrid Mondays

End of a Monday
No better feeling id say its been said so many times its lost all meaning but there is such a stigma attached to the day is question seems to drag everyone down.

Something I do want to rant about is trucks on our roads now I know we need them and of course it would be unreasonable and stupid to say
"lets just get rid of them" Impossible!!  like their slogan says                   >>>>>

The constant and  recurring issue is the speed and manner on which they use our roads here in Brisbane like most city's we have highways everywhere and on them the far right hand lane is considered the fast lane ... by law you still have to do the speed limit which I do but that doesn't seem enough especially for the big rig driving population. more often than not I would be doing the set 100kmh and will still have a truck 20-30 meters in length weighing anywhere between 10 and 25 tonne tailgating me so close I reckon his antenna is whipping my roof so then I either go another 5 k's an hour or switch over to the lane beside me or just stay there to prove a point and half the time they will over take me at least clocking 120kmh and stick the finger or beep their horn.

The fact that they are there doesn't annoy me its how dangerous it is to drive a machine that size and weight in that manner. It doesn't take a genius to know what they would do the the standard family car if they lost control of their truck !! and how hard it is to stop one of those things going at that speed!!

In saying that they arnt all bad there are some smarter ones out there but they seem to be getting over thrown with the dickheads.
I pesonally dont know how to fix the problem in a practical way. but I almost want all laws lifted from truck drivers let them go the speed they want and break any road rules they desire natural selection would soon kick in and them driving how they want the idiots and main offenders among them would soon become extinct by their own hands only problem with that would be the innocent bystanders that would also get taken out with them.

obviously the blog will change over near future as i get a handle on things format, pages, layout sort of things.

I do have many ideas about where i wanna go with this but nothing in concrete but expect to see latest news discussions me being sappy with "appreciate the small things" page :P hopefully some interviews with some interesting people and just sharing some thoughts.
i hope to get alot of lengthy back and forth comments and so on Because i really am interested in seeing others views.
I shall leave it at the for now and look forward to feedback :)
